Site Works Update
11 July 2024
While the project is all but complete, there are still some final works required to bring the area online and ready for use.
The project has faced numerous challenges, the single largest outstanding of these is connection of the site to the National Grid. Until this takes place, much of the site, including automated gates, landing quay cranes, ice making facility and cold storage units are without power and unable to be commissioned. However, Scottish & Southern Electricity (SSE) have now confirmed that this connection work should begin from 12th August.
Once the final connections have been made, testing of the equipment and the completion of safety and compliance checks can be carried out.
In the meantime, we have been able to proceed with the design and configuration of site safety and information signage, installation of several new benches along the public realm walkway, adjustments to the commercial lighting and general site clearing/maintenance with hopefully more to report once SSE are on site.
