Launch & Recover a vessel
Weymouth town slipway is now the only slipway in Weymouth open to members of the public. It offers easy access into the Harbour, leading to Weymouth Bay and beyond. A slipway permit is required to launch and recover your vessel.
WITHOUT A VALID PERMIT(S) FOR YOUR ACTIVITY YOU COULD BE FINED UP TO £2,500.00 UNDER THE WEYMOUTH HARBOUR REVISION ORDER
Essential Information
- Daily slipway permits are valid until 21:30hrs
- There is a sudden drop off at the end of the slipway
- Masted vessels will require a bridge lift if they are heading for sea which can be booked here
- All vessels should be aware of bridge operating protocol and Bridge Lifting Times
- Our slipway is located on Commercial Road (for sat nav use DT4 8LY)

Launching and retrieval for smaller craft is possible at all states of the tide, however larger vessels may require a higher tide.
Please remember
If you plan to carry out any form of motorised water sports in Weymouth Bay, you will also need to purchase a motorised watersport permit in addition to a slipway permit.
Motorised water sports include:
- Water skiing
- Wakeboarding
- Towing of donuts and other inflatables
- Personal water crafting (jet-skiing)
